Tracie Taylor Ochoa Biography

Tracie Taylor Ochoa became involved in the creative design industry after her graduation from Buffalo State College, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1992. Upon graduation, Tracie moved to New York City where she freelanced with several advertising agencies and worked on projects such as the promotional pieces for the Metropolitan Stage Company, an off-Broadway theatrical group, and a Children¹s Club program for the local ABC affiliate. The ABC project included a newsletter for children (part of which was in secret code that was incorporated into the show) and a special headpiece for the children to wear while watching the show.

After relocating to San Antonio in 1995, Tracie became Art Director of a local ad firm, supervising three production artists and building the entire department. Over time she developed a strong working relationship with a local printing company and convinced the firm to launch an affiliated enterprise that integrated a new design shop into the printing company, thus creating one of the first one-stop printing firms in town. For the next two years, Tracie acted as Art Director and Pre-press manager for the company.

Shortly after the birth of her daughter in 1998 Tracie started Taylor Ochoa Design, a small shop offering full-service creative design and advertising. Tracie soon formed another alliance with a prominent local PR firm, allowing her to expand her services to include media placement, public relations and marketing services.

Tracie's range of work includes logo design, corporate identity packages, billboards and signage, brochures, ad campaigns, packaging, interactive websites, direct mail campaigns and the use of QR codes. One of her more notable projects was assisting in the design of Morgan's Wonderland, the world's first ultra-accessible family fun park. Not only did she help with the actual design, layout and space planning of the park itself, but also has designed much of the park logos, signage, collateral material and website. Other important projects include comprehensive collateral packages for clients such as the San Antonio Scorpions professional soccer team, Monarch Academy, CentroMed, Anaqua Springs Ranch, McMillin Homes, Bexar County Medical Society, SACU, USAA and many others.

Tracie's designs have won awards in New York and San Antonio with the American Advertising Federation, the Association for Women in Communications, the Summit Awards and the Texas Credit Union Marketing Council.

Tracie has two children, Taylor and Jake.
